Effective Web Design – Why A Refresh Was Needed
A few months back, I had the pleasure of working with a great dental practice. They’re a busy office with many patients who love them but need a refresher. They couldn’t access their Google Business Profile, and their website was dated. We walked through a game plan of what they wanted from a new site, areas they could improve, and then a game plan of how I would do it. Here is how we doubled their calls.
Building out a modern website for their dental office
Their existing website is what started this all off. They had a person they were using originally, but they didn’t see much coming from their efforts. Their website had just stayed stagnant over the last few years. On our first call, we discussed what they liked about their website and what they wanted for the next one.
Big things that came up were making it modern, keeping it simple, and feeling connected with patients by having their Facebook feed still active on their page.
With this in mind, I got to work. I started by finding their logo colors and building out a website color scheme based on that. Then, what do patients care about when first looking at an office? We want the patient to know they can bring their family to a professional practice. This is where highlighting reviews and expertise are great options.
Another big focus is having something simple to navigate. I feel this is one of the most important aspects when I work on websites for dentists. Patients want to know that you offer the services they need, they want an easy way to contact the office whether it’s scheduling online, or just having an easy way to call the office.
Here is how the refresh looked much easier to read and navigate, before they had a sentence for each service, but not much content there.
SEO For Dentist – Game Plan For Getting Found
The next big focus now was writing content and making sure it was SEO-friendly. When doing keyword research, we wanted to make sure we can figure out what services they offer and how those services would be searched online. Their website before the refresh only ranked for their practice name, but when it came to services like dental crowns, teeth whitening, or Invisalign, they were very far down the list.
I love showing clients exactly what terms I will implement on their website, why we’re doing it, and why it matters. This is what will push the needle, and for practices, it matters when doing SEO for dentists.
Google Business Profile Optimization
The second part of working on their rankings was getting their Google Business Profile optimized. I had to request access to take over ownership because they no longer had access to their business profile. Once we had access to it, it was time to rock! I first started with listing their services, doing competitor research in their area to make sure they had all the right categories on their profile, and then showing Google we’re active by posting regularly.
With the combined efforts on SEO, NAP listings, and optimizing their profile, here were the results we achieved in just the first few months!
We were able to double call volume and jump up their rankings from averaging 12th place to an average of 3.8, and it will continue to keep climbing, not bad in just under 3 months.
Conclusion
With a focus on getting an updated website that is mobile-friendly, has the right keyword research, and an SEO strategy, it can make an impact on your business and provide a huge lift with long term results.
